Get To Know the Artist
Born in 1945, I spent my formative years in Vienna and entered the professional School of Graphic design. Early in my youth, I was drawn to the visual arts and music. I grew up in Cafe Hawelka, a popular hangout for artists, and was exposed to leaders of the Vienna School of Surrealism such as Hundertwasser, Leherb, Fuchs, and many others. In addition, I took night classes from one of the leading artists/designers and drew inspiration from Vienna Masters like Gustav Klimt and my favorite Egon Schiele. Growing up in printing, I worked in Switzerland for Stamptli, one of the oldest printing companies in Europe then Encyclopedia Britannica and Deutsche Gramaphone. Next, I moved to Seattle, where I started my own design firm. I was privileged to work with many local and international firms. Having practiced many different design disciplines, I decided to move on and face my final challenge and enter the world of fine arts. Since 2008, I have worked to perfect and expand my portfolio and received recognition in Monaco, Los Angeles, New York, Miami, and San Francisco. In 2021, I was honored with an invitation to a solo show at the Rainier Club in my own hometown Seattle. The show ran from January 2021 until June and included the full spectrum of my work. Ultimately, the Rainier Club honored my work by selecting Opus 2 for their permanent collection.
